If you are doubting the importance of emergency preparedness - dont. It is critical you prepare, for your own sake and that of your families. Take this as an example.
In any emergency, whether a storm, flood, fire or man made, many countries such as China, do not have the capabilities or resources to handle such a large scale disaster.
Few people are aware of this piece of information which is why you need to take matters into your own hands and prepare for an emergency today.

Let's keep this simple. You need 3 days supply of food and water. You will also need a tent, or some form of shelter. Each of these things should be well looked after because you will never when the time will come to use them. It could be this afternoon, it could happen tommorow - you just never know.
Once you have your supplies keep them inside a comfortable mid to large hikers backpack.
Maintaining your emergency disaster supplies in a backpack gives you the capability to evacuate your home, office or vehicle without losing the supplies that can quite literally save your life.
Although most people will have an emergency pack who take disaster preparedness seriously, other people much prefer to keep their emergency supplies on the shelves. Although i strongly advise everyone to maintain an emergency pack, it is actually a better strategy to have a pack as well as a reliable home supply. Your home supply will take good care of you as you can often stock more than 3 days worth.
Having reliable supplies is a great start to becoming self reliant in an emergency. The other strategy we'll look at now in helping you to survive is the evacuation plan.
The evacuation plan is much like the evacuation plans or escape routes they provide in office buildings, hotels and aircrafts. These are all provided because they are of extreme importance during an emergency. If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
If your area is prone to frequent flooding, earthquakes or the like, you should definitely plan your escape route today.
To prepare your evacuation plan you must create various options, as any one path can be cut off during an emergency. Such is the case during an earthquake and flood. You will also need an awareness of your location so you can plan effectively. With these 2 pieces of advice you can begin to prepare your evacuation plan.
With your emergency pack and evacuation plan all set to go, i hope this information has given you some insight towards improving your disaster preparedness.
Finally, and this is not meant as a threat because i hate hearing ´scare-monger-tactics´ but the fact is, and as the news today can attest to it - global natural disasters for whatever reason are increasing more than usual. So please do yourself and your family a favour, and spend at least an afternoon in your disaster preparedness, and take action on what i have shared with you today.
